Reminder | Welcome Back! A Key Reminder for the Spring Semester 2026
Dear International Students,
Welcome to the start of the new academic year! The first class of the Spring Semester will be held on 2 March 2026. All students are required to return to Jiujiang University and prepare for the new semester before 1 March 2026.
Students who fail to return on time and attend classes will be marked as absent.
We hope you had a refreshing and enjoyable Winter break. As we begin this new semester, please take a moment to review these important reminders to ensure a smooth and successful year ahead.
1. Share Your Winter Break Stories!
We encourage you to share your Winter Vacation (Chinese New Year) experiences in China! Please send your story with photos and/or videos to fis@jju.edu.cn, and will selected or/and be published on website or Wechat. It’s a wonderful way to bond with old friends and welcome new students. Look out for announcements from the International Student Union about sharing events and social mixers.
For the safety, comfort, and well-being of everyone, please strictly adhere to the following campus policies:
No Cooking in Dormitories: For fire safety reasons, cooking with open flames or portable stoves in your room is strictly prohibited. Please use the designated common kitchens.
No Smoking on Campus: Our campus is a smoke-free environment. Smoking is prohibited in all indoor and outdoor public areas on whole campus.
Zero Tolerance for Bullying: We foster a community of respect and inclusion. Any form of bullying or hazing, especially towards new students, will lead to severe disciplinary action.
3. Financial Obligation: Tuition Fees
Please ensure that all outstanding school fees are cleared before 25 August 2026. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of your student visa from 30 September 2026, as per immigration regulations. Please contact the International Students Office immediately if you have any questions.
Your academic progress is our priority. Please be aware of the following crucial policy:
Exam Qualification: In any given semester, if a student's total absences (including sick leave and personal leave) reach one-third of the total class hours for a subject, they will lose the qualification to take the final exam for that subject.
To ensure a respectful and productive environment for all, we expect students to uphold high standards of conduct.
Punctuality: Respect others' time by arriving on time for classes, meetings, and appointments. Example: Being 10 minutes early for a professor's office hours shows respect for their schedule.
Appointment First: Value scheduled time. Always make an appointment to see teachers or administrative staff instead of dropping in unexpectedly.
Using Email: The Official Lifeline: Use your university email for all official communication. Remember to use a clear subject line, polite greeting, and your full name and student ID.
Respecting Boundaries: Avoid contacting teachers or administrative staff with non-urgent matters outside of official working hours.
Respecting Women: Foster a environment of equality and respect.
Queuing Properly: Always join the line and wait your turn patiently at the canteen, library, or anywhere else.
Please be mindful of the HSK Chinese proficiency requirements for your degree program:
For Chinese-taught programs: Undergraduate students must achieve HSK Level 5 upon graduation.
For foreign language-taught programs: Undergraduate students must achieve HSK Level 4 upon graduation.
We encourage you to plan your language study accordingly to meet this important graduation requirement.
